Portable surface roughness testers, sometimes known as profilometers, are primarily designed for testing machined, ground or polished metal and non-metal surfaces. These instruments trace the surface profile with a contact-type diamond stylus and calculate roughness parameters according to ISO standards.

The TR100 is a pocket-sized, affordable portable surface roughness tester designed with an advanced micro-processor which performs data acquisition, data processing and display of all test measurements. The TR100 measures user-selectable roughnessparameters (Ra or Rz) in either microns or microinches.. In addition to measuring the surface roughness of flats, rounds, sloping planes as well as recesses with dimensions greater than 80 mm by 30 mm.

The TR200 is our advanced model surface roughness tester which features menu operation, automatic cut-off setting, 12 different selectable roughness parameters and both digital and graphical displays on a large LCD. Measurements can be made in microinches or microns. Data can be transmitted to a printer or PC.
